Meeting Called to Order — Mike Thompson
- Meeting was called to order by Chair Mike Thompson. Individuals attending the meeting introduced themselves.
Approval of February Minutes — Mike Thompson
- Bill Freischel motioned to approve the February minutes, seconded by Emily White, motion approved.
Treasurer's Report — Camie Pederson
- Camie Pederson presented the March Report – there is $20,196.20 in the money market account, $18,963.33 in the checking account, and $38,603-875 in the Boom Fund. Bill Freischel motioned to approve the Treasurer’s Report, seconded by Emily White, motion approved.
Committee Report - Community Awareness — Kim Woldengen
- Working on the promotion for the luncheon and an article for the Fire Chief magazine.
Committee Report — Training & Exercise
- Boom School – Steve Lee, Jim Stockinger and Pete Herpst are working on dates / locations for the Boom School. Looking at having the classes in June and early July, possibly at Hastings Fire.
Planning Committee — Pete Herpst
- The June presentation is open, will initiate contact for a speaker on the Prescott, WI incident. If any member would like to offer their facility for a tour or has a suggestion for a speaker, please contact Pete. The Annual River Cruise will utilize the same boat as last year and hopefully this year will go up the river into Minneapolis.
Old Business
- Website Redesign – Mike Pliml – work is continuing, target is to complete it in June. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please contact Mike.
- Annual Community Leaders Lunch – Emily White May 13th at Tinucci's in Newport. Invitations will be distributed at next meeting and mailed out to the guest list. Please extend invitation to your management and colleagues.
New Business
- Wakota CAER booth at 43rd Annual Governor's Emergency Management Conference on March 12–13 - those that volunteered to work at the booth will meet after the meeting to discuss.
Announcements
- The Association of General Contractors will be holding a full day HAZMAT Refresher Class on March 26th, cost is $100, contact Dan Hannon if interested.
