Meeting Called to Order — Mike Thompson
- Meeting was called to order by Chair Mike Thompson. Individuals attending the meeting introduced themselves.
Approval of March Minutes — Mike Thompson
- Emily White motioned to approve the March minutes, seconded by Bill McNally, motion approved.
Treasurer's Report
- Camie Pederson was absent, Mike Thompson presented the April Report – there is $20,196.20 in the money market account, $19,203.98 in the checking account, and $38,624.53 in the Boom Fund. Bill McNally motioned to approve the Treasurer's Report, seconded by Jayshree Desai, motion approved.
Committee Reports
- Community Awareness — Kim Woldengen
- Continuing to work on an article for the June Fire Chief magazine. Have contacted press regarding attendance at the Wakota CAER luncheon.
- Training & Exercise — Vacant
- Boom School – the Hastings Fire Department will host all Boom Schools this summer. Classroom training will be at the Fire Station and on the river south of Hastings. The Coast Guard will be providing Water Craft Safety Operation Training which will be the day prior to Boom School and will be a perquisite to operate a boat. There will be 2 3-day sessions: June 17-18-19 and July 15-16-17 and 1 1-day refresher session on August 19th . Cost will be $100 per student per day. Wakota CAER will arrange for the catering of the food. Applications will be emailed.
- Planning Committee — Pete Herpst
- The June presentation is open. The Annual River Cruise will utilize the same boat as last year and will go up the river into Minneapolis to the 35W bridge collapse staging area.
Old Business
- Website Redesign – Mike Pliml – still working on the transfer of the website to the new host.
- Annual Community Leaders Lunch – Emily White May 13 th at Tinucci's in Newport, please RSVP to the Wakota CAER office.
New Business

- HSEM – Kim Ketterhagen has taken a new position, replacement for metro counties is Gary Peterson.
